Mountain Cedar location(s): Arbuckle Mountains,

Regional weather: Monday, December 9 TX/OK/AR: Cloudy and
rainy weather will greet most of Texas
and Oklahoma today. A weather system is currently centered over
the state and will bring wet weather to the region today then move towards the
east to northeast over night. Heavy
rainfall is expected over regions of Texas
and into Oklahoma throughout the
day. Winds will be light in the north
and moderate in the south. Temperatures will remain in the upper 40s south and low
40s to upper 30s to the north. Lows overnight on Monday will be in the
low 30s to the north and upper 30s to the south with calm winds throughout the region. On Tuesday, cloudy conditions will prevail
with heightened humidity throughout the region.
Temperatures will begin to warm reaching the mid-to upper 50s to the
south and mid-40s to the north. Winds in this region will remain moderate
to light out of the southwest in the western portions of the area and from the
north to northwest along the eastern sections of the Edwards
Plateau. In Oklahoma
winds will be from the south to southeast and light. Partly cloudy conditions with increasing sun
breaks and clearing is expected late Tuesday afternoon and into Tuesday
evening.
Trajectory weather: The air mass trajectories from the Arbuckle
Mountains move to the northwest
then north over Oklahoma and into
Kansas over the next 48 hour
period. Light winds will occur today as the weather system in Texas
brings precipitation bands through the state.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy tonight and begin to breakup
tomorrow. Precipitation is expected
throughout the state as the system in Texas
moves to the northeast overnight and tomorrow. Temperatures will just get into
the 40s today and will warm by 5degrees tomorrow.
OUTLOOK: ***Low threat today *** unfavorable conditions
for pollen release today. Conditions
in southern Oklahoma will remain
wet and cold today then begin to warm tomorrow.
However, humidity will remain high and skies will only begin to clear
during the later day on Tuesday.
Therefore, little pollen release is expected from this population. In addition we are at the beginning of the
season and our field informants have yet to find trees actively pollinating. In
addition, the air trajectory characteristics show little lift in the atmosphere
throughout their coarse, a sign of poor qualities for
entrainment and travel of particles. .
Trajectory Start(s) (shown by black star on map):Sulfur, Oklahoma
