Regional Weather: Fri, Sat, Sun, Dec 19-21. TX/OK: Mild weather with above normal temperatures will remain in place for the next several days. On Friday daytime highs will be in the 60s in the south and 50s in the north and night time lows will be near freezing. Skies will be mostly clear with winds from the north in the morning and gradually shifting around to the south in the afternoon and evening. Saturday and Sunday will see daytime temperatures mostly in the 60s (70s in the south) throughout the region with moderate to strong southerly winds. Nighttime temperatures will be mild. Skies will be sunny to partly cloudy on Saturday with increasing clouds, southerly winds, and humidity on Sunday ahead of the next frontal system.

Trajectory weather: The air mass trajectories from the Arbuckle Mountains move to the south early this afternoon, then turn sharply noth and northeast as the winds shift direction this afternoon. Trajectories stay close to the ground this afternoon. Moderate to strong winds from the south, southwest and mild temperatures will dominate the weekend weather. The trajectories from the Arbuckle Mountains show good characteristics for entrainment and travel of pollen downwind this weekend.

OUTLOOK: *** Moderate threat today, High threat for Saturday and Sunday *** Favorable conditions for pollen release. Sunny dry conditions occur today, but cool morning temperatures on Friday and Saturday will reduce morning pollen release. Pollen release will occur during the afternoon Friday and increase tomorrow and Sunday. Moderate to strong southerly winds increase the risk for downwind travel. Tulsa and Oklahoma City may see high pollen levels this weekend. Additional pollen from the Texas population may add to the pollen from the Arbuckles.

Trajectory Start (s) (shown by black star on map): Sulfur, OK.
