Date Issued: 13 Dec 2006
Mountain Cedar Location(s): Arbuckle Mountains, OK
Regional Weather: Wed and Thurs, Dec 13 and 14. TX/OK:
Clear to partly cloudy conditions across the region with low to moderate southerly winds. Humidity is low across
the region. Conditions will remain dry over the next few days and temperatures will remain above normal with mid
to upper 60s in Oklahoma and mid 70s in Texas today and tomorrow. Night time lows will be in the upper 30s to mid
40s tonight. Thursday night's lows will range from the low 40s in the north to the low 50s in the south.
Trajectory weather: The air mass trajectories move from the Arbuckle Mountains to the north, northeast over northeastern Oklahoma. The trajectories show reasonably good characteristics for entrainment and travel. Trajectories on Thursday begin moving to the northeast then turn late in the day to north. If Arbuckle populations are releasing pollen, we may see some in northeast Oklahoma this afternoon and Thursday but concentration will likely be low today and low to moderate tomorrow.
OUTLOOK: *** Low to Moderate threat ***
Conditions are good for pollen release today and better on Thursday; however, we
are at the beginning of the pollen season. Concentrations near the source population may be somewhat elevated.
Trajectory Start (s) (shown by black
star on map): Sulfur, OK.
