2004. The authors studied exhaled NO
as a marker for allergic asthma in children sensitive to grass pollen. They
found that exhaled NO was significantly increased during the grass pollen
season. By contrast, lung function in these patients did not reflect either
pollen level or asthma severity. The authors suggest exhaled NO may be a useful
clinical tool to monitor asthma control.
