Date Issued: 21 January 2004
Mountain Cedar Location(s): Edwards Plateau, Texas
Regional Weather: Wednesday and Thursday, Jan 21-22. TX/OK: Near normal temperatures in the region for the next few days. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with highs today near 50 in Oklahoma and in the 50s in Texas. Lows tonight near freezing in Oklahoma and the mid 40s in Texas. Highs tomorrow will be just a few degrees cooler but still seasonable. Winds will be light to moderate and variable on Wednesday and from the north, northeast on Thursday. Slight chance of rain in central Texas on Thursday.
Trajectory weather: The air mass trajectories from the Edwards Plateau circle around in central Texas on variable winds. Conditions at the sources will be mild with highs in the 50s and partly to mostly cloudy skies. Lows tonight will be in the 40s with near normal temperatures again tomorrow with a slight chance of precipitation in central Texas. Trajectories tomorrow will initially move to the southwest and then circle around to the northeast.
OUTLOOK: *** Moderate to High Threat
*** Mostly favorable conditions for pollen release, although western areas
of the Plateau have high humidity and mist this moring. The trajectories suggest that most of the pollen
will remain local in central Texas. If any precipitation develops
in the area tomorrow, the exposure risk will decline.
