Regional Weather: Wednesday and Thursday, Jan 28-29. TX/OK: A brief warm-up on Wednesday followed by another cold front moving through the northern half of the region late Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, high temperatures will be near 50 in Oklahoma with clear to partly cloudy skies and southerly winds 10 to 15 mph. In Texas highs today will be in the mid to upper 50s with partly to mostly cloudy skies and southerly winds. Lows tonight will be in the 20s in Oklahoma and from the lower 30s to the mid 40s in Texas. Highs tomorrow will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler in the north under the influence of the cold front. Winds will be from the north and skies will be clear to partly cloudy. By contrast, in central and southern Texas highs tomorrow will be in the 60s with southerly winds. Skies will be cloudy with a chance of rain in some areas.

Trajectory weather: The air mass trajectories move from the Arbuckle Mountains to the north and then turn east across eastern Kansas into Missouri. Sunny to partly cloudy skies will prevail across the region with mild temperatures and moderate winds.Freezing temperatures are expected overnight. Trajectories for tomorrow show the air mass from the Arbuckles circling around southeast Oklahoma under the influence of the cold front passing through the region.

OUTLOOK: *** Moderate to High threat Wednesday/Moderate Thursday *** Favorable conditions for pollen release on Wednesday, mostly favorable on Thursday. Sunny dry conditions will occur today, although morning temperatures were low. Moderate gusty winds will move pollen over population areas of Oklahoma. However the pollen season is winding down so amounts may remain in the moderate range. Cold temperatures tonight may also limit morning release tomorrow. Air mass trajectories for tomorrow suggest pollen will remain local.

Trajectory Start (s) (shown by black star on map): Sulfur, OK.
