Regional Weather: Tues and Wed, Jan 9 and 10. TX/OK:
Clear to partly cloudy skies with mild day time temperatures will continue over the next few days in the Oklahoma-Texas
region. Day time highs today and tomorrow will be in the 50s in Oklahoma and the 60s in Texas. Winds today will
be moderate to strong from the north in Oklahoma and east or northeast in Texas. Lows tonight will range from the
upper 20s to 30s. Winds will be shifting to the southeast overnight. Wednesday will have moderate to strong south
or southeast winds throughout the region and increasing clouds.
Trajectory weather: The air mass trajectories from the
Edwards Plateau Texas move to the west and then curve around to the northwest and then to the northeast. The trajectories
show good characteristics for entrainment and travel. Conditions at the source areas on the Plateau are cool this
morning which will limit pollen release to the afternoon hours. Wednesday’s trajectories all move to the north,
northeast over central Texas and Oklahoma. Trajectory characteristics continue to show good characteristics for
entrainment and travel. Conditions at the source areas will be cool again on Wednesday morning limiting pollen
release to the afternoon hours.
OUTLOOK: *** High threat ***
Cold morning temperatures will limit pollen release to the afternoon hours but conditions will then be favorable.
