Regional Weather: Friday, Jan 18. TX/OK: Cool
temperatures continue. Lows Friday morning will be in the low 20s in Oklahoma and upper 20s to low 30s in Texas.
Daytime highs will be in the 40s across the region. In Oklahoma, skies will be partly cloudy with moderate southwest
winds. Later in the day winds will shift to northwest as another frontal system moves across the state. In Texas
skies willbe partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of rain occurring in central and southern Texas. Winds will
be light and variable shifting to north winds in most parts of the state.
Trajectory weather: The air mass trajectories from eastern Texas move to the south, whereas those from the
western side of the Edwards Plateau loop around south Texas. The trajectories from the east show characteristics
associated with the cold air as the air masses sink towards the ground and move primarily at ground level. Trajectories
from the western part of the Plateau show moderate characteristics for transport Conditions at the sources will
be cold today with chance of rain. The cold temperatures and chance of rain should discourage pollen release today.
OUTLOOK: *** Low to moderate Threat today ***
In general poor conditions for pollen release across the Plateau. Since trees are in their peak release period,
some pollen release may occur in sheltered areas.
