Regional Weather: Thursday, January 7– TX/OK: Across the region the weather will be cold with high temperatures in the 20s and 30s today and tomorrow. In Oklahoma skies will be partly cloudy north and partly clear to partly sunny in northern Texas and southern most Oklahoma. Further south mostly cloudy skies will prevail. Throughout the region strong northerly winds will occur today slackening towards the evening and overnight. Winds will be from 15 to 25 miles per hour in most region with gusts up to 40 miles per hour. Tonight temperatures will be in the single digits in the north and into the teens across the Edwards Plateau. The surrounding communities of Austin and San Antonio are expected to be in the lower 20s. Tomorrow partly cloudy to partly sunny skies will occur across Oklahoma and northern Texas. On the Edwards Plateau mostly cloudy skies will prevail. Temperatures will remain in the mid 20s to mid 30s for the HIGH and drop back into the teens overnight, on Friday night. Winds will continue from the north except on Friday night when sites on the Edwards Plateau begin to turn from a northerly flow to a southwesterly flow at light wind strengths.

Trajectory weather: Partly cloudy skies, cold conditions and strong winds from the north will occur across Oklahoma today, tonight, and tomorrow. Temperatures will be in the teens today, down to single digits tonight, and back to the teens tomorrow. Friday night some areas may drop below 0 as the cold conditions into the weekend. Today and tomorrow, the surface trajectories move southward at ground level for long distances with the strong winds. The air appears heavy and cold. Because of cold temperatures no pollen release is expected.

OUTLOOK: *** Low Threat today; Low threat tomorrow *** Poor conditions for pollen release today and Poor conditions tomorrow; Poor conditions for entrainment and transport today, Poor conditions tomorrow. Cold conditions with strong wind speeds today decreasing to moderate winds tomorrow provide poor conditions for pollen release today and tomorrow. No pollen release is expected. Winds will be moving rapidly towards the south on strong winds. For these reasons the threat today and tomorrow is low and the chance of pollination, entrainment and travel is poor.
