Regional Weather: Sunday, January 13 – TX/OK:
The cold front that pushed through the region yesterday will remain in place for the next few days bringing below
average temperatures to Oklahoma and Texas. Daytime highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s in Oklahoma and the
40s to mid 50s in Texas. Nighttime lows will be at or near freezing throughout the region, and moderate winds will
be be from the north. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy.
Trajectory weather: Air mass trajectories from the Arbuckle Mountains move south over central Texas along
moderate northerly winds. The trajectories move close to the ground showing little lift. Temperatures at the source
area are low this morning and will reach the mid 40s in the afternoon in southern Oklahoma and mid 50s in central
Texas. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy. Overnight temperatures will be be in the 20s.
OUTLOOK: *** Low Threat today and Low Threat tomorrow *** Poor conditions for
pollen release today and poor conditions tomorrow. Poor conditions for entrainment and transport today. Skies
will be clear to partly cloudy today with cool conditions. Temperatures at the source area this morning were below
freezing and will only reach the mid 40s this afternoon, which is barely reaching the favorable range for pollen
release. Conditions are poor for entrainment as trajectories travel near ground level. Tomorrow will see similar
conditions in southern Oklahoma, still below the optimum for pollen release.
